Plastic Water is part of the Tofino Float'em Garden. I felt compelled to make a statement about bottled water. Plastic water bottles are among the most common items found in the oceans, including here. Yet around Tofino, there are other more environmentally friendly alternatives to the single use, throw-away plastic bottles. As I was wondering how to incorporate the bottles into an art piece, I read about a study that found the water in plastic bottles actually contained bits of micro plastic. The irony was impossible to ignore, so I created this plastic representation of the earth’s water cycle.
