Welcome to the Washed Up Workshop in Tofino BC

I make art from marine debris sustainably harvested off the west coast of Vancouver Island.

Marine debris is both a passion and a problem for me

As a park warden I remove it as garbage to protect the environment, yet as an artist I am inspired to treat it as a treasured resource for creating art.

Absolutely Oystercatcher

Marine debris provides me with an endless palette of worn and weathered material which I use to create sculptures, wall hangings and installations.

The material is transformed by the ocean

...which inspires me. I incorporate it as found, with minimal modification. Each art work is an assemblage made entirely from marine debris collected by myself and many wonderful volunteers.
