This is the first work I've done using painted wood exclusively. I was really happy how the small holes and imperfections of the wood pieces matched up so well together. To highlight the painted wood I tried to keep the work simple and uncluttered. As the piece came together it reminded me of a log barge being towed across the horizon, a scene I''ve witnessed many times off Hornby Island. It was fitting then to include the log barge sign, a common find along Hornby's shore and where I picked this one up.
