Happiness Comes in Waves

I love working with rope. It’s a great medium for making art. It's pliable, has repetitive patterns, and permeates a natural fluidity. Lyrical lines are an important aesthetic in my art, and rope lends itself perfectly to suggest flow, rhythm, and shape. This is my first piece exclusively using rope. I tried to capture the feeling of watching ocean waves, how they all look somewhat the same, yet different and how the breaking white water highlights their leading edge. Waves and rope just go together. This may have been my first piece but it won’t be my last. Thankfully, I have a lot of rope :-)
