Plastic Tide is a hanging mobile comprised of iconic plastic home product containers that found their way into the ocean and were collected from local shores by me. The containers represent a range of household products which, despite the lack of a label, are recognizable by their distinctive shape and colour.
The artwork is a statement about our relentless consumption of plastic, the proliferation of disposable household plastics, and the influences of branding and marketing on the choices we make as consumers.
